Your Greatest Resource
An interesting story, not so long ago I was engaged in a conversation that made me wonder a bit, reflecting I must say that there have been times where I have experienced discomfort in its varying forms, within and without relationships, disappointments, unmet expectations (whatever it is). There have been times where I in these situations thought I was not going to make it and that I would not be able to move on from this and possibly be bitter or erect walls as a result, further to that there have been times wherein I have been confused beyond belief, where I didn’t know what was left and what was right, what was up and what was down, I just didn’t see a way out and in those times of confusion and times of uncertainty it was always the people in my life that helped me to see, I understand individual strength, I understand the power and influence of character but we all need a foundation not only to build something concrete but to also to build something that will stand the tests of life and part of that foundation is what goes into our foundation after it has been dug is the people that we keep, the people that we allow to influence us so the one thing I want us to acknowledge is that the most valuable resource besides our state of mind is the people that we keep in our lives and that’s why it is vitally important that we assess our support structures and structures of influence often, sometimes what we intake is just as important and what we exhale. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mean that we need to test people to see if they perform in the way that we expect them to; I just realise the power our support structures and structures of influence have on us. Some things are not an internal issue but a reflection of the external needing to be adjusted a bit.
