Never Settle
Dear Self,
You can be a lot more, stop being okay with good enough, demand more, demand better. Never settle.
Mark Twain once said, twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you did not do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
There honestly are a multitude of reasons to settle and why we decide to settle. Whether it be a storm or doubt that rages against your ambitions. Let’s admit that storms will come and other times it will be that still small voice that will come at the most inopportune times to throw you off. Whatever and whoever it may be, at that moment you have to make the conscious choice to pick yourself up, higher and higher to the point where that voice or circumstance appears as exactly what is it, fleeting. Don’t settle for a good day, raise your ambition to an excellent year then bump that up to a decade. Don’t settle for a day to day, raise your ambition to a progressive life. Don’t settle for someone to give you attention raise the standard to someone who will love and care for you as much you will them. Don’t settle. Don’t settle, you’re worth so much more than you realise and sometimes the reason why we’re unhappy where we are, is not because we aren’t grateful for what we have but the fact that we know at our core that we deserve better or have outgrown where we are; so a battle happens whose result appears in the guise of discontent, loneliness, and a lack of fulfilment. In all honesty, settling only breeds stagnation until an emotional and spiritual death occurs. Look back at your life you lived and constantly be impressed by the decisions you made.
