Disappointment

Let’s talk on disappoint for a second. In life, whether we want to admit it or not, it’s guaranteed that there will be disappointments I think it’s just part of the process but just like any other process there’s a step that comes after that, and the step that comes after that, just as important as the step that came before that if not more. Because this step determines direction on wards, it determines what we place our focus on therefore what we deem important because what we chose to focus on, always reveals what we give importance. I get it, disappoints reveal a hurt generated from a failed or unmet expectation that we carried in our heart and it sucks but the truth of the matter is, that we need to move on. I believe that disappointment reflects a signal that there is a mismatch in our perception of an event or someone compared to what is truly happening. Either at this point, we need to readjust how we see or give weight to things or readjust what we choose to tolerate in our own lives. The importance of mental alignment so key at this point because if our expectations are accurately aligned with our sense of self then we are in a better position to align what we let in, what we chose to let go of, and what we chose to accept. Sometimes we need to have the mental fortitude to step outside ourselves for a moment and assess what our disappointment is trying to signal to us. I don’t necessarily think disappointment is bad, the feelings associated with it are uncomfortable but it’s just another stepping stone for growth when handled correctly
