Why Guilt?

Guilt will stop you in your tracks. Guilt will make you remember all your insecurities, it will make you remember all the things you got wrong and funny enough the things you think you got wrong. Guilt will remind you in your lowest moment that you are human and sometimes being human is frowned upon as heartbreaking as that is. When I sit and think about this I sometimes feel like the point of guilt is to allow you to embrace forgiveness because in as much as we need to learn to forgive others we also need to learn to forgive ourselves. But when we are focused on guilt we turn our attention away from growth and getting that release you deserve because guilt will try to tell you that you aren’t worth it. Guilt can sometimes be that silent voice that screams ever so silently but so impactful “who do you think you are” but what’s necessary and most important in a situation like this is not the ability to stop the thought, but the ability to respond boldly and with conviction “I am human and I will rise above my mistakes. I am human and I am worth everything I know I am worth and best of all. I’ve still got work to do” guilt does not make you. Your response to the illusion it creates does
